AIVA (Artificial Intelligence Virtual Artist) is an AI platform specialised in music composition. It is co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme and allows users to create music in more than 250 different styles using preset algorithms. Its technology is based on AI’s ability to learn from over 30,000 pieces of classical music, allowing it to generate compositions that are emotionally resonant and stylistically diverse. 

This AI-based tool is designed to be easy to use, accessible via Google Colab, and does not require users to have any programming knowledge.

The free version allows users to download up to three tracks per month, each track up to three minutes long, in MP3 and MIDI formats. While copyright remains with AIVA and credit must be given for each use, this option is ideal for beginners or educational activities that don’t require monetisation. AIVA also offers a Pro plan that gives users full copyright ownership of the music created, making it suitable for commercial activities.
